Let's be clear: if the route includes Sagrada Familia, endless queues and overpriced sangria… anem malament.
Barcelona isn't about that.
It's about getting lost. It's about turning where you shouldn't. It's about discovering what doesn't appear on TikTok.
We've teamed up with Cooltra —because traveling in a car isn't our thing— to show you another side of the city: rawer, more real, more ours.
Ready? Four routes that aren't for tourists. They're for those who know. Let's go!
Montjuïc
But okay
Yes, Montjuïc. But not the one where you go up, take a picture, come down.
We're talking about getting lost in gardens that no one walks on, sneaking into winding roads, and letting yourself fall where the city opens up without asking permission.
There are viewpoints where there's no posing... and that's why they're cooler.
Colleague's advice:
- Go up without a plan, go down without hasteThe sunset here isn't about taking photos, it's about staying silent for a while watching Barcelona turn golden without asking anything in return.
- Go through the gardens: The Joan Brossa Garden, the Sculpture Gardens, Miramar, the Historic Botanical Garden, the Mirador del Alcalde Gardens, Laribal or the Mossèn Costa i Llobera Gardens… a network of greenery that is not made to be rushed, but to get lost among curves, shade and unexpected viewpoints.
- The Greek TheatreYou sit, relax, soak up the sun in the stands like a lifelong local, and observe. Doing nothing else. In summer, this amphitheater becomes the heart of the Grec Festival of Barcelona, with theater, dance, music, and performances ranging from classical to experimental.
Diagonal by night
Heading to the sea
Forget the daytime postcard. This is about something else.
You walk down Diagonal Avenue as the sun sets and the city begins to shed its mask. High beams, a gentle breeze, people who are no longer in a hurry.
The plan: to end up on the beach, where Barcelona opens up to the sea.
But first there's a mandatory stop: Tío Che.
Yes, the usual one. The one that's always been there. The one that if you're from here, you've already been to, and if not, you're late.
Ice cream, horchata, and that moment of "this shouldn't be this good, but it is." It's the kind of place where time doesn't pass, it melts away.
And then, yes: a walk to the sea. No destination.
Poblenou

Creative, but without selling out
The industrial vibe was mixed with art and nobody asked for permission.
You can start with murals hidden among converted factories, continue towards spaces like Can Framis, where contemporary art doesn't ask you to understand it, just to look at it.
If it falls on the weekend, Palo Alto Market appears as if someone had opened a parallel universe: design, food, music and people trying to look casual without succeeding (and that's okay).
Riding a scooter is key: you see something, you stop. No drama. No map. No rush.
Poblenou is not visited. It's viu.
Parc del Laberint d'Horta
Where getting lost isn't an accident, it's the plan
A labyrinth. Literally.
But before you think the typical thing: this isn't just a pretty place to get lost among hedges.
Parc del Laberint d'Horta is the oldest preserved garden in the city. Neoclassical, romantic, with statues, hidden staircases, and an aesthetic that seems designed to make you get a little (or quite a lot) lost.
It was built in the 18th century as a private garden for a noble family, and even today it has that air of "this wasn't for just anyone back then".
And yes, there is a cypress maze where you can act brave… or accept that you're going to get lost just like everyone else.
NOTE: Ecooltra doesn't go all the way to the maze, but you can park it a little before.
Move like the city is yours
With Cooltra there are no closed routes or absurd schedules.
There is freedom. And a little bit of well-understood chaos.
Barcelona isn't something you explore. It's something you hunt.
And when you think you've got it figured out... come to White Rabbit.
We don't introduce you to Catalan culture.
Spoiler: You'll never look at the city the same way again.
Shall we continue or are you sticking to the usual? 🐰
